Defects in manufacturing can cause injuries or death

The news of recalled items can make people rather uneasy. It is difficult for some people to understand how a product that was supposed to be safe is suddenly considered so unsafe that it should be returned, fixed or discarded. There are several reasons why a product might be recalled. One of the possible reasons is a defect in manufacturing. This is one type of product liability issue that might occur without a recall ever being issued.

A defect in manufacturing occurs when something goes wrong while the product is being made. This type of issue isn't one that involves the way that a product was designed. Instead, it means that there is something that went wrong because of an error made during production.

When a product is made, the manufacturer has a duty to ensure that it is safe to use as intended. When there is a defect in manufacturing, that duty hasn't been met. Examples of defects in manufacturing include items that can break during use and ingestible items that become contaminated during the manufacturing process.

There are some cases in which a defect in manufacturing might lead to injury or death. In those cases, investigations are launched by the manufacturer and regulatory agencies to determine what went wrong. Some cases are easy to pinpoint the problem, but in others, making that determination can be more difficult.

If you were injured by a faulty product or lost a loved one due to a tainted food item, you might choose to seek compensation. You should consider all the damages you have suffered because of the product liability issue.
