New Jersey car accident involving school bus injures 5

On Behalf of | Jun 6, 2014 | Car Accidents

New Jersey school bus accidents can be especially difficult to hear about. A recent car accident involving a school bus and another vehicle left four injured, according to police. Two adults and a teen in the school bus were transported to local hospitals, although authorities said their injuries were not critical.

The accident occurred on Route 130 in Cinnaminson. According to police, a car traveled through a red light at an intersection without stopping. The car hit the school bus, say authorities. Two people inside of the car were reportedly seriously injured, and they were taken to a hospital for treatment.

The accident occurred around 4 p.m. on May 30. Police say the school bus was not from the local district. They did not report any information about where the bus was going with the students, but it was traveling northward at the time of the crash.

According to initial reports, the accident seems to be the fault of the driver of the car, since it traveled through the red light. However, the accident is still under investigation by authorities. If that driver is determined to be at fault, he could be cited and held civilly liable.

Even though individuals on the bus didn’t sustain serious injuries, that doesn’t mean that they may not have cause to sue for damages. Sometimes, what appears to be a minor injury following an auto accident becomes a serious health concern in the future. Families and victims should understand all options for filing legal claims prior to making any decisions on that front, no matter what damages are apparent just after an accident.
