Motorcycle crash seriously injures New Jersey man

On Behalf of | Sep 25, 2012 | Car Accidents

A Magnolia, New Jersey, man sustained serious injuries recently when a car plowed straight into the motorcycle he was riding. The car accident occurred when the car, which was traveling at a very high speed, struck the motorcycle, which was stopped in traffic at a red light. The motorcyclist was struck with such force that his helmet shattered when he hit the ground. Also, the motorcycle’s right front wheel assembly was taken off by the collision.

The motorcyclist was taken to the hospital with a mangled leg and a severe head injury. The driver of the car was reported to either be distracted or under the influence of intoxicants. She was taken into custody and will likely be charged soon.

Auto accidents are a major threat to the lives of motorists, regardless of their cause. They can either be caused by the recklessness or negligence of a motorist, such as driving while intoxicated or distracted by cell phones, or through unsafe road conditions. They can also be caused by the condition of an automobile, with brake failure being a common cause of auto accidents. Any of these factors pose a serious threat to the well-being of motorists.

There are few things more traumatic than seeing a loved one or a family member hurt or killed in a car collision. The emotional and psychological impact can be devastating, causing a great deal of shock, grief, stress and anxiety. This is in addition to the financial costs of the accident, such as repair bills, lost wages, medical bills and the costs of any disabilities.

Fortunately, any victim of a car accident involving a negligent driver is entitled to just and fair compensation. Victims of car accidents are entitled to monetary compensation for the pain and suffering incurred, as well as for disability benefits and for lost wages and medical bills. They may also obtain a judgment against the defendant for negligence or recklessness if it is warranted. Car accident victims need not suffer because they are owed a truly fair monetary compensation.
