Products LiabilityManufacturers have a duty to the public to manufacture safe products, or put appropriate warnings on products that are not entirely safe. If a defect in design or manufacture of a product causes injury to someone, the manufacturer, wholesaler or retailer may be liable for the injuries caused. The law in New Jersey provides that anyone who is injured as result of a product that is not responsibly fit for its intended purpose may recover damages against the manufacturer or seller of the unsafe product. The law further provides that unless a product is made as safe as practically possible without destroying its utility, it is deemed unsafe. One of the focuses of our law firm is compensation for people who have been injured as a result of dangerous products or machines. Many of these injuries occur as a result of products purchased for use at home or as a result of unsafe machines in the workplace. At Ginsberg & O'Connor, P.C., our attorneys have successfully recovered damages for people who have been injured as a result of poorly designed air conditioners, hand trucks, breast implants, automobiles and trucks and various types of industrial machines. Our lawyers also handle toxic tort cases, which are cases where people have been injured as a result of exposure to chemicals, mold and other toxic substances. For example, we currently represent 14 people who allegedly contracted cancer as a result of being exposed to PCB's contained in ceiling tiles. If you have any questions, or wish to make an appointment to speak with an attorney regarding your injury from a defective product, please do not hesitate to call our Mount Laurel, New Jersey office at (888) 727-1991. If you prefer, you may e-mail us, or fill out the form on the Contact Us page of this website and a representative from our office will be in touch with you as soon as possible. We look forward to hearing from you! |
